Who are your favorite authors?

I read a lot.
My boyfriend still can't get over how many books I own. I'm a writer and usually writers love to read. Lately, I haven't been able to read as much as I'd like to. But there are times when one of my favorite authors will have a new release and the whole world will stop until I finish the book. I'm sure you guys know what I mean. All these authors have a distinct voice and can tell a compelling story.
Here's my list of life stopping authors. They are in no particular order.

Terry Spear
Karen Marie Moning
Ilona Andrews
Kresley Cole
Darynda Jones
Michael Crichton
Jeaniene Frost
Jennifer Estep
Chloe Neill
Saranna Dewyde
Claire Ashgrove
Paula Millhouse
Amber Belldene

There comes a time when someone recommends a new author to you. They say you absolutely have to read them. So you find time to pick up one of their books and can't put it down. Here are some authors who are new to me and may eventually will end up on the list above.

Anne Bishop- I love her new The Others series. I'm going to have to check out all her series now.
Cecy Robson- I read the first Weird Girls Novel and now I have to buy the rest of the series.
Ernest Cline- His book Ready Player One was so much fun I can't wait to see what his next release will be.
Sarah J. Maas- Her Throne of Glass Series is awesome
Romily Bernard- Her first book Find Me kept me up all night.

Who are your favorite authors? Have you recently found a new author your excited about?

  1. Can't list my favorite authors. I'd leave someone out for sure (my memory doesn't work that well). Although...I have this JR Ward book (The King) sitting here, torturing me to read it. But I can't read it yet. Once I pick that sucker up, I'm sure I won't put it down and I have other work I have to be doing.

As for a new author I'm excited about? Hmmm... MQ Barber, maybe. She writes M/M/F erotic romance, but it's more than just sex (or kink). I fell in LOVE with her characters. No, I take that back. I'm OBSESSED with her characters, and I can't wait until the third book in her series comes out June 2nd (and to think there isn't a single paranormal thing about them, either!). I will probably re-read the first two books before I delve into the third. THAT'S how much I love those books!

  2. Gosh, I know what you mean. I had a hard time with the list and picked some authors that have 3 or more books that I've pre-ordered.
I really don't get into multi-partner erotica but if MQ Barber is that good, I may have to check it out. I love character driven books.

  3. Ah, thanks so much for including me in your list, Bonnie!!! I loved Moning's Immortal Highland and had to get all her other books. I loved Leslie Lafoy's also, who writes historicals. I haven't seen anything lately of hers, but I had all the books I can get of hers. She does a fantastic job of characterization.

Of course you would be on the list. Your books are awesome. Plus you put up with me :)
Moning's Immortal Highlander books are great. I've never read Lafoy's. I'll have to try her out.
