Mastering the art of deception
Weekend Writing Warriors 3-20-16
Every weekend a wonderful blog hop happens where writers, known as the Weekend Writing Warriors share creative snippets of their stories. Click on the link to visit the other bloggers. Like our posts, share our posts, and leave a comment if you’re of mind to. Writers thrive on comments.

This weeks snippet is in River's (My hero) point of view. Abby and Pepper are inside and he's waiting for them.

River mastered reading the signs of deception long ago and these two women displayed almost every one. Maybe they had nothing to do with the disappearance of Mr. Livingston, but his intuition said the two ladies were up to no good. The taller blonde covered for Abby. Still, Abby’s cute brown curls almost hid her tiny face, the face of an angel—a fallen angel. If he could get her alone without the Amazon, he’d no doubt coax her into telling the truth.

White sheets flapped in the light friendly breeze on a clothesline that stretched from an old pine tree to a steel pole. It reminded him of growing up in California. He walked past the giant dinosaur sculpture in the yard—how freaky was that—over to the smoldering ashes in the fire pit. With a long stick, he poked around in the hot embers, denim and a few other scraps of material hid under a burnt log. Someone had tried to burn his or her clothes?

TEMPTING THE LIGHT will be released April 20th.
Here's the blurb.

Bad luck magnet Abby Fitzpatrick gets fired, catches her boyfriend cheating with a mime, and is cursed by an evil genie who pops out of a tampon box. She’s bound and determined to remove the spell, and as fate would have it, the hottest guy she’s ever met is out to kill her.

River Stone, a Cryptid hunter for Legends and Myths Police Squad (L.A.M.P.S.), poses as sheriff for Abby’s hometown of Haber Cove, New Jersey. He’s out to find and capture a man-eating gnome and bag the legendary Jersey Devil monster. Little does he realize, the woman who catches his heart is the same creature that he was sent to destroy.

Tempting the Light is the first novel in the L.A.M.P.S. series that features hunky secret agents who find true love while hunting and slaying dangerous Cryptids.

  1. There is a lot going on here, so interesting. I like the relationship between the characters. There is also so much mystery about what the girls are planning and how he is going to deal with it.
