Foster Dogs

Hello Everyone,

Lately I've been fostering dogs for Animal Education and Rescue.
I've had two Italian Greyhound mixes and they've both been wonderful dogs. They both were adopted pretty quickly.

I've learned many things these past few weeks. It's very hard to let a foster dog go. You pour your love and time into them so they start acting like a real dog only to have to give them up. What I keep having to remind myself is that it's about the dog. Not me. For every dog I foster saves a dog's life. If there are no open foster homes the dogs don't get pulled. Our rescue combs through the applications and calls references so I know they will have a great home.

Here is some of the PR that I made for the fosters.

This is Chloe.

Daisy decided she wanted Movie Trailers.

Crazy weekend ahead

Hey Everyone,
I hope you have a great weekend. I get to work in a dog park tomorrow morning.
I'm hoping to write some more in the afternoon and evening.

I have to shop for a dress for a wedding, too.
I'm thinking maybe something like this.
I really want to see that Galexy Quest movie. I've been putting off packing so maybe I'll pack a few boxes.
How about you? Are you doing anything exciting?

Treasure Finds

Treasure finds & Gnome Alert
I love to find treasures. My treasures are bargains I find on Ebay, Craigslist, Amazon, or Garage Sales. The old cliche saying is true... One man's junk is another man's treasure.
I found this Gargoyle on Craigslist for $15.00. Isn't he cute? He weighs about 30 pounds and is about a foot and a half tall.

I found this castle for my fairy garden on Amazon. It's supposed to be a fish tank ornament but I wanted something unique and Gothic. It only costs about $13.00 when most fairy garden homes cost about $40.00. I can't wait until we move so I can set it up.

Gnome Alert!
We went to one of those concrete statue places and this gnome was there to haunt me.

Do you like to treasure hunt? Where do you find the best treasures? What was the best treasure you've ever found?

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July
I hope everyone is celebrating our independence today with fireworks and cookouts.
I used to love fireworks but my dogs are afraid of them. Now when July rolls around, I cringe. Hopefully, this year will be quiet.

Have you ever read a book and you still think about it a year later?
My sister recommended this book to me. It's called Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. I held off reading it because it sounded a little weird and techno-geeky when she explained it to me. Then my other sister recommended it. I finally read it. Boy! What a book!
I copied the description off Goodreads.
It's the year 2044, and the real world is an ugly place.

Like most of humanity, Wade Watts escapes his grim surroundings by spending his waking hours jacked into the OASIS, a sprawling virtual utopia that lets you be anything you want to be, a place where you can live and play and fall in love on any of ten thousand planets.

And like most of humanity, Wade dreams of being the one to discover the ultimate lottery ticket that lies concealed within this virtual world. For somewhere inside this giant networked playground, OASIS creator James Halliday has hidden a series of fiendish puzzles that will yield massive fortune -- and remarkable power -- to whoever can unlock them.

For years, millions have struggled fruitlessly to attain this prize, knowing only that Halliday's riddles are based in the pop culture he loved -- that of the late twentieth century. And for years, millions have found in this quest another means of escape, retreating into happy, obsessive study of Halliday's icons. Like many of his contemporaries, Wade is as comfortable debating the finer points of John Hughes's oeuvre, playing Pac-Man, or reciting Devo lyrics as he is scrounging power to run his OASIS rig.

And then Wade stumbles upon the first puzzle.

Suddenly the whole world is watching, and thousands of competitors join the hunt -- among them certain powerful players who are willing to commit very real murder to beat Wade to this prize. Now the only way for Wade to survive and preserve everything he knows is to win. But to do so, he may have to leave behind his oh-so-perfect virtual existence and face up to life -- and love -- in the real world he's always been so desperate to escape.

A world at stake.
A quest for the ultimate prize.
Are you ready?

I know what your thinking. What the....? I... don't think I'm interested.
This book is filled with coolness. It's packed with 80's trivia, action and adventure, and has a romance too. The first two chapters move a little slow but once that hook sets in your mouth you won't be able to put it down. I promise. I love books that make me think and try to put all the pieces together. This one kicks your brain into full gear. Like I said, I still think about this book and I read it over a year ago. Guys love it, too. Go ahead and give it a try. If you do, let me know what you think about it. I know everyone that I recommended it to has told me they absolutely loved it.

This is not the actual mystery box.
You have your choice of different genres if you win.

YA Paranormal/Fantasy

Writing Craft books.
I have about 4 piles like this and I haven't even went through the books stored under my bed or in the basement yet.

For every 30 entries on the rafflecopter I will give away another mystery box. So that means another winner for every 6 people who complete all the entry tasks. Up to 10 boxes. This contest is only for US addresses.
So I hope every one tells their friends because I need to get rid of these books and I want them to go to a good home.

Gardening on the deck

This Summer I'm gardening on my deck. We are moving soon and I wanted to take my garden with me.
My temporary fairy garden.

My green peppers are almost ready to harvest.

Something weird is happening to my tomatoes. Do you see how the bottoms are brown? Please comment if you know what's causing this.

Evil Gnomes

I have an evil man-eating gnome in the story I just finished. Hobby Lobby had a gnome display so a snapped a picture of them. They look kind of demented.
The bottom ones were kind of plain.

Amazon has a Dinosaur eating gnomes statue.

They also have loads of zombie gnomes. For some reason the zombie gnomes aren't as creepy to me.
Do you have any gnomes in your yard?
