Who are your favorite authors?

I read a lot.
My boyfriend still can't get over how many books I own. I'm a writer and usually writers love to read. Lately, I haven't been able to read as much as I'd like to. But there are times when one of my favorite authors will have a new release and the whole world will stop until I finish the book. I'm sure you guys know what I mean. All these authors have a distinct voice and can tell a compelling story.
Here's my list of life stopping authors. They are in no particular order.

Terry Spear
Karen Marie Moning
Ilona Andrews
Kresley Cole
Darynda Jones
Michael Crichton
Jeaniene Frost
Jennifer Estep
Chloe Neill
Saranna Dewyde
Claire Ashgrove
Paula Millhouse
Amber Belldene

There comes a time when someone recommends a new author to you. They say you absolutely have to read them. So you find time to pick up one of their books and can't put it down. Here are some authors who are new to me and may eventually will end up on the list above.

Anne Bishop- I love her new The Others series. I'm going to have to check out all her series now.
Cecy Robson- I read the first Weird Girls Novel and now I have to buy the rest of the series.
Ernest Cline- His book Ready Player One was so much fun I can't wait to see what his next release will be.
Sarah J. Maas- Her Throne of Glass Series is awesome
Romily Bernard- Her first book Find Me kept me up all night.

Who are your favorite authors? Have you recently found a new author your excited about?

Cute Puppies
Rescuing dogs has been a passion of mine for sometime. I have rescued five dogs and each one has had a different personality. Pictured below are my three babies. All of these are puppy mill rescues. That means before they were rescued they lived in a small cage their entire life. They existed for only one reason and that was to make puppies. They never were let out of their cages and the only interaction they had with people was not positive. Their baths consisted of getting sprayed down with a pressure washer. It's very sad what they had to go through. Now, they have soft beds and can run around the house. They still don't like grass very much but love to be outside on the deck. They are happy and give lots of kisses.

Lego Land and Captain America

Terry Spear and I went to Lego Land to kill some time before the movie Captain America started.
Lego land was cool but they didn't have any Darth Vader key chains left. I really want one and will have to surf ebay now. We didn't go into the back room because you had to pay and we were running short on time. The ones we did see were really cool.

Lego Einstein

So after our short Lego tour we headed over to see Captain America. I had mixed feelings about the movie. I loved Natasha. I thought she totally kicked major butt. I thought Captain America was kind of wimpy. He didn't feel very Alpha to me and he needed a gun. Also, the dark villain soldier was totally hotter.
Did any of you see it yet? What did you think?

Haunted Hotel

Terry Spear and I stayed at the Palmer House Hotel this week. We picked it because it was supposed to be haunted and it's a beautiful hotel. We didn't see any ghosts so I added one to the picture I took.

Spring is in the air.
I’m so happy spring has finally arrived. The birds chirp, the flowers bloom, and the snow melts. This year we had an extremely cold and snowy winter. I thought spring would never get here. We do have to wait until May 26th to plant any plants that could be damaged by the frost. Next weekend I’m planning to dig out my fairy garden furniture and scrub the old dirt from them.

What do you do to get ready for spring? What are your favorite plants?

Writing Playlist

Hi everyone,

For my first real blog post, I have decided to talk about playlists. Some writers like to write in silence and some like to listen to music. Since I fall into both categories, I thought a discussion on playlists would be interesting.
When I write to music, I have eclectic taste. It depends on my mood and what scene I’m writing. If it’s one of those not-in-the-mood writing days, I start out with the Rocky soundtrack. Pretty cheesy right? But for some reason, the music from Rocky gets me fired up and gives me a feeling that I can accomplish anything, even the impossible.
Below are some of the songs from my writing playlist. Do you have a playlist? If so, what’s on it? Thanks for visiting my blog.
