Gardening on the deck

This Summer I'm gardening on my deck. We are moving soon and I wanted to take my garden with me.
My temporary fairy garden.

My green peppers are almost ready to harvest.

Something weird is happening to my tomatoes. Do you see how the bottoms are brown? Please comment if you know what's causing this.

My outdoor writing oasis.

  1. And you're moving from there why?
Can't help you with the tomatoes. I'm not a gardener of ANY sorts.

    1. Stacy,
      We need a bigger place.
      Have fun this weekend.

  2. Looks like Blossom End Rot. That happens when there's lots of moisture and humidity in the air. Try mulching them with several inches of pine straw - tomatoes love the acid in the pine straw, and it'll keep the plants dry too.

Looks like that one is a goner - Rats!

    Nice peppers! I'm jealous!

    1. Paula, they're in pots. Can I still mulch?
Yeah, that tomato is getting picked today.
      Thanks for the info.
