The Evil Cat

A couple days ago I talked about my rescued dogs. Today I'm going to tell you about our rescued cat.
His name is Andy. No, I didn't name him after my ex-husband. He came with that name and he knew his name so I couldn't change it.
Andy had three different owners before me. He originally came from a cat mill. He had one job and that was to make female kitties pregnant. Everyone is like wow, I bet he loved it. Wrong. Mill animals are kept in cages and it's a horrible life.
Andy is a very affectionate cat, at least toward humans. The reason why he had so many previous owners is because he bullies other cats. At 18lbs, he often would beat the living snot out of the other kitties in the house.
I don't have any other cats in the house so he seems pretty happy. Except he doesn't care for dogs much either. The dogs keep their distance from him so things work out. See how happy he is next to my Angel in bed?
Above I was playing with my vampire app. He's now a vamp kitty.
In the summer we shave him to look like a lion. The groomer says he loves it and purrs the whole time. When he comes home he struts around to show off his new do.
He's also a nicer cat when he's shaved.

Do you have any pets? Do they act different after grooming or a hair cut?

  1. I admire all you do for your animals, Bonnie. We're soul sisters in that regard. Andy is gorgeous! I almost fell off my chair laughing at the photo you made using the vampire app. I need to know the name of that app. (Or is it simply the Vampire App?) Have a great weekend. Your site looks great!

  2. Pauline,
The name of the app is I am Vampire. I think it's one of the best dollars I've ever spent. My kids and boyfriend got tired of me vamping them out so I had to start using my animal pictures.
I'm so happy to hear you rescue your animals too. They need all the help we can give them.
    Thanks for visiting my blog.
    *hugs*

  3. Bonnie,
Andy is so lucky to have you as his human mom. That's hilarious you have him groomed into a lion.
We have a long-haired Russian Blue named Magnus. I may take him to the groomer now that I've seen Andy's special Summer do.

Do your pets ever inspire your writing?

Mine do. My dragons definitely share traits with my feline pride.

    Great post!

    1. Paula,
He's not very good at grooming himself so it works out great. His disposition is much better without all that hair.
Russian Blues are beautiful and I can see how he would inspire your dragons. Your dragons are so awesome.
In my Urban Fantasy, I have a witch put a spell on Vicky's familiar so he talks. He is grumpy and insults everyone in a Darth Vadar voice. So I guess he did inspire that.
      Thanks for visiting my blog.

  4. Bonnie, thank you for sharing both about your dogs and your kitty. My pups sure are the delight of my life. Nothing more wonderful after a long day than the sheer excitement, love and adoration on their faces when you come home. Dogs have such an amazing capacity for happiness.

    1. Samantha,
I totally agree. Dogs have that unconditional love that matches nothing. They don't judge and are always happy to see you. They are priceless. I've seen pictures of your babies and they are adorable.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog.
